Packing for a festival can be an absolute nightmare. However, I have created a helpful list to ensure you won't forget a thing (or over-pack)!
Money (cash/bank cards)
Wellies (very important!)
Change of clothes for each day, including a clean set to travel home in
Something warm to sleep in (i.e thick socks, jogging bottoms and jumper)
A laundry bag for the dirty clothes
A small bag to keep your belongings in whilst in the arenas (these usually cannot be any larger than a A4 piece of paper)
Toilet roll, baby wipes and face wipes
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Deodorant (some festivals won't allow aerosols, so double check beforehand!)
Shower gel/soap, shampoo & conditioner. You can buy plastic free shampoo and body wash, so it isn't added weight!
Hair brush - hair ties and clips too
Anti-bacterial gel (you'll definitely need this after using the toilets)
Hand-held mirror and make-up (keep it at a minimum so it isn't as heavy)
First Aid Kit: Plasters/blister plasters
A bag (I highly recommend using one main bag rather than several smaller ones, it is a lot easier to carry if the bag is on your back!)
Tent (with tent pegs!!!)
Camping chairs (most of the time you can buy them at the festival, so it saves you carrying them)
Reusable water bottles (there will be free refill facilities on site. Carry a bottle and stay hydrated!)
Camping pillow (or use your bag/jumper etc)
Bin liners (to clear up your rubbish)
Disposable BBQ/Stove (some festivals do not allow these or they have a designated site. Make sure you are allowed to take these before doing so!)
Dry foods such as noodles/pasta/cereal bars... (food stalls/vans will give you boiling water upon request)
Alcohol (majority of the time you are not allowed to take in glass. Pour all liquids in to plastic/reusable bottles before leaving). The festival may operate an alcohol limit. You can check on their website and that should tell you
If you are taking your phone, also take a reusable/portable charger pack.
Have you been to any festivals this year or have one planned? Let me know about any more dos and don'ts that I may have missed! I'd love to know.
