It seems like forever since I last wrote a blog post. I had a short break from social media, so thought I would get back into things and kick it off with a little life update.
A few weeks ago I started a new job, so I have been dealing with the stresses that come with that. I hate that transition of leaving one job to start another. It was a bitter-sweet leaving. I met Lauren through my old job, so we have been living and working together for the last two years. As we never really had time apart from each other, I think that was the biggest adjustment. My new job is a lot different compared to what I used to do, but I am thoroughly enjoying myself at the moment - which is good I suppose!
Last weekend (August bank holiday) we went to Creamfields. My legs got really badly sunburnt as I was stupidly sat in the sun all day drinking. As I was drunk, I didn't feel it until I had sobered up that night... After that, I literally could not walk properly for the rest of the weekend because of how bad it was. It was 30 degrees all weekend, no shade around the campsite and all of our drinks had gone warm. It was not ideal. Other than that, I had a really good weekend and I did enjoy myself (although I'm not selling it very well, haha!). I definitely won't be camping again any time soon, especially in 30-degree heat.
Somehow, Lauren and her sister fell ill after the festival. I was fine when we got back but now it has hit me soooo bad. I have the worst flu ever, so this weekend I have not moved from the sofa. I hate being ill, especially on weekends because I hate wasting days off. I have so much tidying up and things to do around the house, but I cannot be bothered to do anything. I'm sure everybody can relate to that though?!
On the bright side, I have a few good things to look forward to over the next few months. It is mine and Lauren's two year anniversary tomorrow. We are meant to be going out for dinner after work but if I still feel rubbish, we'll have to go another time. I can't stop sneezing and snuffling at the moment!
We are going to see Hozier - one of Lauren's favourite artists - at the end of September. I am really looking forward to that. It has been booked for months and we haven't been to a concert since Twenty One Pilots in March (which was incredible by the way!!). I'm also going to Disneyland for Halloween! I love Halloween so much! I'm going with Lauren's sister and I think she is more excited than me. I'll be fine once we're there, it's just the travelling that bores me. Thankfully, we're travelling to France on the Eurostar, so it isn't that bad I suppose.
Let me know what you have been up to lately and if you are looking forward to anything in the near future! I'm hoping to get back in to the swing of things with regards to uploading weekly posts etc.
